Canadian-Made Qualifications

To participate, businesses and products must meet our Canadian eligibility standards:

• At least 51% Canadian production: At least 51% of the direct costs of producing or manufacturing the product must be incurred in Canada. 
• Ships from Canada: Products must be fulfilled and shipped to customers from within Canada — not drop-shipped from another country. 
• Made or substantially transformed in Canada: The finished product must be made, manufactured, produced, or substantially transformed in Canada. 
• Imported components are allowed: Products may contain imported materials, ingredients or components provided the finished product meets our Canadian-made requirements. Canada's Competition Bureau similarly permits a qualified “Made in Canada” claim where the 51% threshold and substantial-transformation requirements are met.  
• Canadian-based business: The participating business must operate in Canada. 
• Available for online purchase: Customers must be able to purchase qualifying products online. 
• Ships within Canada: The business must offer shipping to Canadian customers beyond only its immediate local area. 
• Coupon must apply to qualifying products: The offer submitted to CanadianCoupons.ca must apply to products that meet the program's Canadian-made criteria. 
• Accurate Canadian claims: Businesses are responsible for accurately representing where their products are made and must not make misleading Canadian-origin claims.

Examples that can qualify: Canadian-made clothing, jewellery, artwork, home décor, furniture, cosmetics, skincare, candles, specialty foods, pet products, gifts, sporting goods, handmade products, manufactured goods and other products made or substantially produced in Canada.

Doesn't qualify: Imported finished products that are simply warehoused, labelled, packaged or resold in Canada; products drop-shipped directly from outside Canada; businesses offering only services; or products marketed as Canadian when the substantive manufacturing occurs outside Canada.
